How To: Turn Off 4G On Your HTC Thunderbolt

Everyone is talking about how the HTC thunderbolt battery life takes hit whenever it is on the 4G network. So if you are on 4G area or not, this trick will help turn off the 4G radio by accessing the phone phone “other” menu. This tip also worked on my Motorola Atrix 4G when I was trying to play around with its radio whenever my signal dropped.

This is what you have to do:

  • Dial  #*#*4636*#*#
  • Look for “Phone Information”
  • Change your preferred network to “CDMA auto (PRL)
