White Samsung Galaxy Nexus gets unboxed, courtesy of Engadget

The guys over at Engadget got their hands on the white version of the Galaxy Nexus, which should currently be available in the UK and has been available from Negri Electronics for about a day or so. Specs-wise, the phone is identical to the regular HSPA+ GSM Galaxy Nexus that was released back in November. The main difference includes the following:

  • Color – The side and back of this model is all white, compared to gray finish you’re used to seeing on the current models of the Galaxy Nexus. The camera pod also has a chrome finish instead of the black pod that’s currently on the original Galaxy Nexus.
  • Yakjuxw product name – The product name for this Galaxy Nexus is Yakjuxw, instead of the official yakju. Since this Galaxy Nexus goes by the name yakjuxw, it will not be getting its updates directly from Google. Don’t fear though; the phone still has an unlocked bootloader and it’s still considered a Nexus device.
  • US Charger – According to Engadget, the White Galaxy Nexus shipped by Negril Electronics comes with a North American charger instead of UK charger, which makes many believe that it could be making its way to North America, one day.
