Verizon Wireless to expand their 4G LTE network on November 17

Verizon Wireless announced today that they will be adding new markets to their ever-expanding 4G LTE network on November 17. Over 178 cities will then be covered with Big Red’s LTE goodness. Keep in mind that prior to this November expansion, Verizon is going to add 26 additional regions on October 20.

Over 13 new markets will be added on 11/17, bringing the total of covered markets to 178. Here they are:

  • Little Rock, Arkansas
  • Savannah, Georgia
  • Cedar Rapids and Des Moines, Iowa
  • Lexington, Kentucky
  • Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri
  • Lincoln, Nebraska
  • Orange County, New York
  • Greater Providence
  • Rapid City, South Dakota
  • Roanoke, Virginia
  • Appleton, Wisconsin

In addition to the new markets, Big Red is planning to expand its LTE coverage in:

  • Louisville, Kentucky
  • Grand Rapids, Michigan
  • Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Nashville, Tennessee

Massive props to Verizon and their ongoing LTE network rollout which they started back in December 20 and now covers a good majority of the country. Let’s hope other carriers will be able to do the same.
