Verizon could be getting ready to activate global roaming on the HTC Rezound, Droid 4, and Droid RAZR

The HTC Rezound, Droid 4, and Droid RAZR could soon be turned into global devices, allowing the Verizon phones to be used on GSM networks in over 185 countries. The guys over at Droid Life have obtained a picture of the product info sheet for the HTC Rezound which states that coming soon, the device would be usable in over 185 countries with an upcoming global feature.

Although these devices are 4G LTE devices on Verizon’s network, they all contain de-activated GSM radios that will allow them to roam globally if ever activated.

According to a source familiar with the situation, the global feature on the Rezound, Droid 4, and Droid RAZR are going to be activated very soon, which will give users the ability to use the phones with other SIM cards while outside of the U.S.

It’s not clear why Verizon Wireless has taken so long to turn on this feature. I’m sure that many more phones would have been sold if they could be used overseas on other networks.
