Verizon alerting customers that Motorola Droid RAZR, RAZR MAXX “will soon be upgraded to Android 4.0”

Well it is about time folks! We received tips that Verizon is currently alerting Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX owners that their phone will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich soon. While they didn’t give an actual date of the rollout, it is definitely a good sign that it will be pushed in the coming days. Here is the message:

“Free Verizon Message: Your phone will soon be upgraded to Android 4.0. At that time we will remove your Verizon Wireless Mobile IM app because it is not supported in Android 4.0. Please download a new instant messaging app to use IM on your phone. Thank you for using Mobile IM!”

We suspect that Big Red will start rolling out Android 4.0 to the two Motorola phones in the next couple of weeks. Motorola is known for conducting soak tests where about testers get to try out the new builds before releasing them to the public. Here is to hoping that we’ll hear it officially from Verizon.
