[Uncarrier 5.0] Check out T-Mobile’s Wideband LTE, VoLTE markets


During the Uncarrier 5.0 event, T-Mobile announced that they will be expanding both of their Wideband LTE and VoLTE networks. Neville Ray, Chief Technology officer at T-Mobile, claims that “while we rolled out the network at a record-breaking pace, we are far from done. The team continues to advance the network at an unprecedented, Un-carrier pace, expanding our footprint and adding more and more spectrum to LTE.” He added that they expect to reach over 230 million people by the end of June. Here are the 16 markets covered under the Wideband LTE network:

  • Birmingham, AL
  • Columbus, OH
  • Dallas, TX
  • Detroit, MI
  • Honolulu, HI Houston, TX
  • Jacksonville, FL
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Minneapolis, MN
  • Mobile, AL Orlando, FL
  • Portland, OR
  • Seattle, WA
  • Tampa, FL
  • Upstate, NY

Mr. Ray also mentioned that T-Mobile ‘s VoLTE is now available in 15 markets, covering 107 million people. The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be the 4th handset to support VoLTE starting tomorrow. Here is the list of markets:
