[Unboxing] Fossil Q Founder Smartwatch First Impressions

Today we take a look at the new Fossil Q Founder Smartwatch. Fossil is only one of two watch makers to produce an Android Wear powered wearable. And guys, this one is really nice. It feels like an actual watch and I really can’t stop staring at it.

Upon opening the box, you will find the watch, Qi wireless charging pad, a microUSB cable, wall charger and the manual. The charging base is unlike any other I have seen. It is placed in a small leather cushion which gives it a nice premium look. The only downside is that you can’t just drop the watch on it like you would do if you had Moto 360 charger. I can confirm that you can use the Moto charger to charge the Q watch.

The Fossil Q Founder packs a 1.5″ circle LTPS display with 360 x 326 resolution, Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 400 mAh battery, Gyroscope and Android Wear. It is worth noting that it has an ambient light sensor just like the Moto 360. However, it doesn’t come with heart rate monitor. If you are not a fan of stainless steel bands, you can get the Q Founder with a leather strap for $20 less at $275.

You can only buy this watch directly from Fossil. The Google Store has it listed as unavailable.
