Tizen a threat to Android?

Tizen, a Linux based operating system, hopes to be an alternative to both Android and Apple, but could really deal Android a severe blow if the rumors are true. It is rumored that Samsung, who makes up of 40% of all Android phones, may be looking to free itself from Google and switch to Tizen OS. Tizen OS, which is another open source operating system similar to Android, combined with Samsungs robust marketing budget could possibly pose quite a threat to Googles Android operating system. It is also rumored that Samsung may produce a high-end Tizen phone later this year. Can that rumored Tizen phone compete with the wave of upcoming high-end Android phones?
