Time Warner Cable updates Android app with live streaming, says no to rooted devices

If you’re a Time Warner Cable customer, there’s some good and bad news for you. The official Time Warner Cable app for Android, TWC TV, now streams live video on your Android device. To take advantage of the goodness, you will need to have a Time Warner Cable subscription and a device running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Unfortunately, if you have a rooted device, you won’t be able to view live TV on your device. Just like with Google Movies, Time Warner has sided with their programing partners and has denied access to rooted device for security reasons.

The app is currently available for you to download from the Google Play store. If you experience any difficulties with the app after the update, Time Warner suggests you uninstall the app from your device and re-install it.

To get the latest TWC TV app, head over to the Google Play store now!
