With AT&T leaving a bad taste in the mouth of the Android community when they released the HTC One X with a locked bootloader, we started to wonder if the newly announced Sprint EVO 4G LTE will be restricted as well. Fortunately, the folks at Android Central were able to “easily” unlock the EVO’s bootloader by using Android SDK and following the instructions found at HTCDev.
The average Android users doesn’t necessarily know what a bootloader is. And if you they’d ask us, we’ll tell them that it that barrier that stops us from modding our Android devices. Once you bypass it, you will be able to enjoy custom ROMs such as CyanogenMod and AOKP, custom recoveries and full device backups. Good job Sprint!
