Spotify finally launches in the U.S.

Spotify is a well known music-steaming application in Europe and many of us here in America have either never heard of it or have been waiting for it to land here. Beta sign ups started last week as we reported here.

Spotify is similar to apps like Pandora, it allows it users to stream unlimited music on demand, create and share playlists. As of now, Spotify is still in beta mode and not everyone can get in unless they have signed up, I am still waiting for mine, by the way!

Spotify will be offered as a free app which will be supported by ads. You will also have the option of subscribing to their Unlimited ($4.99/month) or Premium ($9.99/month) services. The Unlimited subscription will remove ads from streams but you won’t be able to fully access the app from your phone, it will not have an offline mode or their enhanced sound quality. On the other hand, if you choose the Premium package, for $9.99 per month, you will able to stream any track you want, have access to the app online or offline and organize, play your own music files.

If you haven’t gotten an invite yet, Spotify will allow you to access their services if you sign up for either of their paying plans. So if you want to pay $4.99 or $9.99, you can go here and sign up. Did anyone receive the invite yet?
