South Korean carrier rolls out Voice Over LTE today, to be available in new Galaxy S III

While our major carriers are still in the testing stages of voice over LTE here in the US, our friends in South Korea are getting ready to launch it as early as today. SK Telecom is reportedly going to roll out the new service dubbed ‘HD Voice’ today, featured in the new Samsung Galaxy S III.

Korean IT Times mentions that current Galaxy S III owners will soon be receiving an update which will add the new feature to their devices. SK Telecom also mentions that upcoming LTE devices will come with HD voice out of the box. As far as U.S. is concerned, MetroPCS has become the first carrier to offer the VoLTE service. We expect the other top cellular providers to follow their footsteps in the near future.
