Sony Xperia Play CDMA Version Enters the FCC and Taken Down Into Pieces

On April fool’s day, the CDMA version of the Sony Xperia Play has hit the FCC and got approved. This isn’t joke by the way and this is a big indicator that this Sony device may be due for a release in the US pretty soon.

The Xperia Play, torn down, appears to support both CDMA and GSM technologies. The SIM card may indicate a future support of Verizon’s 4G/LTE network. Being a gamer, I think this phone will need a solid and fast data service to support online gaming.

If the rumors about Verizon’s spring roadmap are true, we could see the Sony Xperia Play sooner than expected, let’s say April 14…
