Shazam app receives update, adds music purchase via Google Play Music

We wanted to let you know that Shazam for Android received a new update today which is available in the Play Store. The company says that it is bringing a “new way for users to buy and stream tracks with Google Play.” Basically, this means that when you search for a song, you will be able to purchase it or listen to it via the Play Music app.

If you have a Google Play Music All Access subscription, You will still be able to listen to tracks without having to buy them. If you don’t have a subscription, you can always sign up for the free 30-day try out. I personally use the Google Search feature to search music. Shazam gives you more options after you find a song/artist such as finding out about the artist’s upcoming concerts, listen to it using Rdio, Spotify or Beats Music and even watch it in a video.
