Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 receives premium accessory portfolio

Samsung announced today the release a portfolio of “premium accessories” for their newly released Galaxy Tab 10.1. You will now be able to hook up that super thin Android tablet with docking stations, protective cases and adapters for multimedia solutions. Some of these accessories are available now and others, such as the SD card adapter and the leather case with the Bluetooth keyboard, will be available mid-summer.

Docking Accessories

Samsung is offering a full keyboard dock for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 for the price of $69.99. It will sync and charge your tablet while you are doing stuff on it. It comes with soft-touch Hotkeys which will help you access Internet, e-mail, music and video controls with one push.

If you are just looking to charge you Galaxy Tab, you can get the multi-media dock. You will be able to put your tablet on landscape view and its 3.5mm audio jack will let you use external speakers for a better sound experience. It also includes HDMI pass-through that will let Galaxy Tab users to connect their tablet to the HDMI adapter to transfer multimedia stuff to their entertainment center.

Protective Cases

Galaxy Tab users who are looking to add protection to their cherished tablet, have a couple of options. The Book Cover ($59.99) case looks like a neoprene pouch and can also be used as an easel stand when opened. It can also be propped low to be used as a keyboard stand allowing the tablet owners to use the Galaxy Tab’s touchscreen keyboard without removing it from the book case. 

Samsung is also offering a more stylish and luxurious option in the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Leather Pouch ($29.99). It can easily fit into your briefcase or packpack without adding bulk.

Multimedia Adapters

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 USB Adapter ($29.99) will let you connect USB accessories such as keyboards, mice, USB drives and other peripherals, without the need of downloading drivers.

Other notable Galaxy Tab 10.1 accessories include a USB 2A Travel charger ($49.99) and a USB 2A Car Charger ($39.99). Both include a USB to 30 Pin Data Cable which can also be purchased separately. And if you don’t like to get your tablet all smudgy, you can use the Galaxy Tab Conductive Stylus which will allow to touch, tap or swipe the touchscreen display without using your sweaty fingers.

While all of the accessories above are available as of today, Samsung also announced the release, for mid-summer, of a Bluetooth keyboard accessory that comes with a black leather case/stand. Some of you may have to wait a bit for the SD card adapter and USB connection Kit (the Tab doesn’t have an SD slot) as well.
