Starting tomorrow, Verizon Wireless will be offering the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 at all retail locations and online at VerizonWireless.com. The new LTE tablet will sell for $500 when you sign up for a new 2-year commitment.
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, Android 3.2 Honeycomb, a 3.2-megapixel rear camera with 720P HD video recording, a front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video chat, 16GB of internal storage, and much more.
It’s so unfortunate that this nice-looking device is going to be launching with Honeycomb instead of Ice Cream Sandwich. On top of that, it’s even crazier that it will be selling for $500 with a 2-year contract. Seriously, Samsung and Verizon, why would anyone pony up $500 to get this tablet on a 2-year contract? The reason tablets like the Amazon Kindle Nook Tablet are successful is because they are not super expensive.
There’s no reason any 7-inch LTE tablet should cost $500 on a 2-year contract.
