According to Forbes, Google is set to launch the Nexus 9 tomorrow. They received a tip from a source ‘close to Google’ yesterday. In case you didn’t know, the Nexus 9 will be made by HTC which has been out of the tablet category for a few years.
The report also mentions that Google was going to hold a big launch event but instead settled for ‘big reveal’ type of announcement because they’re still working on tweaking Android L. The Nexus 6 will be announced via a blog post the source also mentioned.
Pre-orders are set to start on October 17 with a street date of November 3. The Nexus 9 will come in 2 flavors. A 16GB model with microSD support will sell for $399 and a 32GB 4G LTE model will go for $499 (microSD support as well). The tablet will have ab 8.9-inch display with 2048 x 1440 resolution, a 64-bit-dual-core processor with NVIDIA Kepler GPU, 8-megapixel rear camera, 3-megapixel front camera. HTC BoomSound, dual front speakers and a brushed aluminum frame.
As any unverified rumor, we suggest to take this info with a grain of salt. We still think it’s odd that Google opted for microSD support which they haven’t done yet with any Nexus device.
What do you guys think?
