Rumor: Nexus 7 3G said to be coming in the next few weeks

While many people currently enjoy the Nexus 7 tablet by Google and Asus, many were hoping for a version of the tablet with some sort of mobile data connectivity. At the moment, the Nexus 7 is only available with Wi-Fi access, limiting you to where you can get access to the internet.

If you’ve been waiting for Google and Asus to release a version of the Nexus 7 with mobile connectivity, you might just be in luck. According to Paul O’Brien, founder of the popular MoDaCo forums, a 3G version of the Nexus 7 is in the works!

The 3G version of the Nexus 7 will feature the same hardware specs, expect for the 3G radio. Asus is currently working hard on production for a launch around 6 weeks for now.

Unfortunately, there is no exact launch date available and we’re not sure which markets are going to be receiving this one. Hopefully all the markets where the Wi-Fi Nexus 7 is available will be getting the 3G version.
