As you may know already, I ordered a Nexus 6 from AT&T this past week. I received it yesterday and the first thing I’ve done was turning it on. To my dismay, AT&T somehow finagled their jingle within the boot animation. If you were looking for a pure Android experience with the AT&T model, you probably want to rethink that. Don’t get me wrong this is still a Nexus phone, an altered Nexus phone.
Want to remove the boot animation? You must root your Nexus 6. Once you do that, you need to access the boot file using a file manager of your choice (something like Root Explorer). Full instructions can be found here. It should take less than a minute to do.
