The first pictures of Huawei’s upcoming flagship phone, the Ascend D1 Q, have surfaced, thanks to Chinese site TechOrz. The Ascend D1 Q is the third phone from Huawei that is going to be transforming the phone and electronics manufacturer’s image to one that builds high-quality, high-end devices, much like HTC, Samsung, and Motorola.
The Ascend D1 Q is expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next week. It is supposed to be Huawei’s first quad-core device. At the moment, we’re not sure if it’s going to be running on NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor or if Huawei has a little surprise up its sleeve. Last week, a rumor surfaced that Huawei was planning on announcing its own quad-core processor. So, the Ascend D1 Q could launch with Huawei’s quad-core processor, if the rumors are true.
Along with the Ascend D1 Q, the first phone from its Diamond series of phones, Huawei is also expected to announce an updated version of its Mediapad tablet, possibly a 10-inch model.
Earlier this year at CES 2012, Huawei announce its Ascend P1 and Ascend P1 S phones, two high-end dual-core phones that are set to debut.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m really excited about seeing what Huawei has to offer. Based on the pictures, the Ascend D1 Q looks really nice. It looks like it will feature a large 4.3-inch or higher display. The device’s red-on-black scheme reminds us of the HTC Rezound and Droid Incredible series.
We’ll be finding out more during Mobile World Congress 2012, which starts next week.
