Official Wikipedia Android app finally released to the Android Market

Wikipedia has just launched their official app at the Android Market. It became available just a couple of days ago. The giant online encyclopedia is currently down in protest of SOPA and PIPA. So if you can’t access the site, their app is currently fully operational.

Here are the features:

  • Save article to read later or offline
  • Search articles nearby
  • Share articles using Android “Share” function
  • Read article in a different language
  • Full screen search

This Wikipedia app will give the same access to the 20 million articles currently available on the website, directly from your Android devices. How ironic that everyone is reporting about this app on a day that their site is down..?
