It’s official folks. Samsung announced this evening the launch of the Galaxy Round, ” the world’s first curved display smartphone.” We’ll be looking at a massive 5.7-inch Super AMOLED 1080p FHD display which is the same size as the newly released Note 3.
As far as pecs are concerned, here is the list:
- Android 4.3
- 5.7-inch Full HD Flexible display
- 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor
- 3GB of RAM
- 32GB of internal storage with up to 64GB additional storage via microSD
- 13-megapixel rear camera
- LTE radios
- 2800 mAh battery
To put the curved display to use, Samsung made sure to include software features like the Roll Effect which allows the user to check the date, time, missed calls and even battery status by simply tilting the phone. This is pretty much the same thing as the Air Gesture feature found in the S4 and yeah, the Note 3. Music lovers will also enjoy a feature that allows skipping songs while the display is off.
If you ask us, Samsung pretty much released a variant of the Note 3–just like they did with the Galaxy S4 Active. Details about when the Galaxy Round will come to the U.S. are still up in the air.
