Mozilla’s Firefox leaves beta, revamped Android app now available

Since its release in Google’s Play Store, the Firefox Android app fell short to its PC version. The folks at Mozilla decided it was enough and released a new update for it today. They promise that it is not only faster than the older version but also faster than the stock Android browser. The secret behind it is a new rendering engine that speeds up page loading time. Here is the full changelog:

  • Faster start-up and page load times
  • Support for Adobe Flash
  • The user interface has been completely re-designed with a new Awesome Screen
  • New personalized Start Page with top sites and tabs from last time
  • Better text readability through font size inflation
  • Tap-to-play is default for plugins
  • Google searches now utilize HTTPS
  • New panning/zooming architecture implemented for better touch responsiveness

Firefox for Android is definitely getting better with every update. The fact that it now supports Adobe’s Flash Player and Firefox Sync is also a great thing. If you want to give it a try, hit the download links below. Let us know if you’ll drop your current browser for Firefox.
