Motorola and Intel to announce their first device on September 18

On September 18, Motorola and Intel will finally announce the first product in their partnership. The two companies have scheduled a press event for September 18 in London. We know for sure that Intel and Motorola are planning on announcing a new device running on Intel’s Medfield platform. Will it be a tablet or a phone? Will they be announcing two devices? We won’t know for sure until the date nears.

In the meantime, we can speculate based on the invite that they sent to members of the press. The invite simply says “Let us take you to the edge”. Are they possibly talking about phone with no bezel? It could be!

A few days ago a report from Bloomberg stated that Motorola was planning on announcing a bezel-free phone at their September 5th press event. Could the Bloomberg source have gotten the date wrong? Possibly. Could Motorola be introducing a bezel-free phone tomorrow for Verizon Wireless as well as one running Intel’s processor on the 18th? Very possible, too.

It looks like September 18 is going to be a great day and we’re looking forward to the new product(s) that will be announced.
