Meet the Motorola Corvair, an Android-based tablet TV controller

The guys over at The Verge have gotten some pictures of an upcoming Motorola tablet codenamed Corvair. Based on the info from the pictures, the Motorola Corvair is a 6-inch Android tablet that is designed for use in the living room.

Not much is known about the Motorola Corvair at the moment except for what is available to us from the box in the images. On the box, it is called a “dedicated controller”, and based on the image of the tablet’s UI being beamed on the TV screen, we can assume that content can be shared between the TV and tablet and vice versa.

Specs wise, not much is known. Based on the box, the Corvair will have a 4000mAh battery, run Android 2.3, feature a 6-inch capacitive touch display, an elegant design optimized for low cost, and feature both IR and RF4CE controls.

There’s no word on whether this will be a universal control (I hope it is), or if it will only work with Motorola set-top boxes. Hopefully it’s the former.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated when more info is available.
