LG Optimus 3D Max cruises through FCC with AT&T bands

The LG Thrill 4G didn’t quite make the impact that either LG or AT&T had anticipated; owners of the device had to wait over a year for a Gingerbread update. Hoping to avoid the same fiasco, it looks like Ma Bell and LG are going to give it another shot with the upcoming LG Optimus 3D Max which has just cleared the FCC under model number LG-P720H. With AT&T rolling out its brand new LTE network, you’d think that all of their upcoming “high-end” devices would sport LTE radios, right? According to the FCC filings, the LG-P720H has HSPA+ radios, just like the international variant. The question remains, do we really need a 3D phone?
