LG launches the Optimus Vu in South Korea

The LG Optimus VU, LG’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy Note, is now available to purchase in South Korea. The hybrid phone/tablet, which feature a 5-inch display with 4:3 aspect ratio, is currently available on mobile carriers SK Telecom and LG U+ for 999,900 won, which is roughly $894 USD.

The Optimus Vu features a fast dual-core 1.5GHz processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread (with an upgrade to ICS within 3 months), front and rear cameras at 8 and 1.3-megapixels, 32GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, a 2080mAh battery, and more. All of this is packed into a body that is only 8.5mm thick and weighs only 168g.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling if/when the Optimus Vu will be available outside of South Korea. For all of you who are hoping to get your hands on this, keep those fingers crossed!
