The Lenovo IdeaPad A1 was leaked four months ago, cleared the FCC and has now been made official at the IFA convention. Folks who are looking for bargain tablets may want to consider the $199 price that the 8GB model has been given for . The only downer may be that it will not run on Honeycomb but will instead have Gingerbread in it. Other than that, it will sport a single-core Cortex A8 processor, a 3MP rear camera, front camera, MicroSD slot, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display.
Word on the street is that the U.S. will not see the 8GB version of the IdeaPad A1 but will instead get the 16GB and 32GB ones which are priced at $249 and $299 each respectively. This Lenovo tablet is certainly not the Galaxy Tab 7.7 but its price tag will attract more bargain-hunters than tech savvy folks. The A1 tablet will be available in light blue, white, balck and pink and there was no word about when Lenovo will release it.
