HTC preparing to upgrade the One XL and One S to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in Australia, still doesn’t provide dates

According to Australian carrier Telstra, HTC is working on updating two of its devices to the latest version of Android, 4.1 Jelly Bean. A software update page on Telstra’s website indicates that HTC is working on the 4.1 update for the HTC One XL and the HTC One S. The One XL is the same as the One X, except that it features a dual-core SnapDragon S4 processor.

According to the Telstra software update page, “HTC is preparing an update but is yet to confirm the date it will be submitted for Telstra testing”. While it might be a surprise for some, one would expect HTC to upgrade its flagship phone phones for 2012 to Jelly Bean, especially since they shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich.

Like the above message states, there’s not date mentioned by HTC. So Telstra could start testing the update later this month, next month, or next year. Nobody knows. What’s certain is that the One X, One XL, and One S will eventually be getting Jelly Bean.
