Honeycomb powered Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet could launch this summer

Lenovo, the makers of the popular Thinkmate line of laptops has decided to give Android some love in the form of a Honeycomb powered 10.1-inch tablet. The folks over at ThisIsMyNext.com got their hands on a Power Point presentation that contains a lot of goodies on Lenovo’s soon-to-be ThinkPad Tablet.

The Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet is going to run Android 3.0 and will feature the following:

  • Dual-core Tegra 2 processor
  • 10.1-inch IPS display running at a 1280 x 800 resolution
  • front and rear-facing cameras
  • 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB options
  • USB 2.0, Micro USB, and mini-HDMI ports
  • Full sized SD card slot
  • 3G/4G connectivity
  • Full-sized keyboard dock (optional)
  • Stylus (optional)

According to the slides, we should expect this tablet sometime this summer, around July. Expect to pay at least $500 for one. Lenovo hasn’t made any announcements, so it’s possible that this could be one of their projects that never makes it to reality. In the mean time, we’ll just keep our eyes and ears open for more information. If this thing does go into production, it could end up being one of the most sophisticated Android 3.0 tablets around.
