Here we go again, Apple goes after Motorola over Xoom design

We reported yesterday that a German district court has sided with Apple and blocked the distribution of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 all over Europe. Along with the Samsung lawsuit, Apple has also filed a complaint against Motorola over the Xoom tablet design, claiming that it is a copy of the iPad. If there was an Android tablet out there that really doesn’t look like an iPad, it will definitely be the Xoom!

Motorola and Apple are currently suing each other over 40 U.S. patents. And according to Florian Mueller, the German court will not issue a preliminary injunction because “German lawyers usually discourage such motions unless they are filed within one month of finding out about an infringement.” When is Apple going to stop? The Motorola Xoom is okay for now but we don’t expect the Cuppertino-based phone maker to let go that easy.
