Google’s Nexus 7 has hidden magnetic smart cover sensor

If you have owned a Blackberry phone in the past, you definitely remember how the display locks as soon as you insert the phone in a magnetic case. It looks like Google/ASUS have secretly implemented a similar feature in the Nexus 7 tablet. So they placed a magnetic smart cover sensor under the screen which awakes the tablet when a magnet is placed against it on the bottom left. YouTube user wwscoggin uploaded a video where he demonstrates how the new hidden feature. We’re wondering how the folks from iFixit missed this little detail after they dissected the Nexus 7–pretty unusual. ¬†And yeah, check out the video below.
