Google renames Android Device Manager app to “Find My Device,” update now available

You might want to check out your Device Manager app. It received a new update changing its name to “Find My Device” and also updating its UI. In case, you have never heard or used the Android Device Manager, it is an app that helps you locate your misplaced, lost or stolen phone. On top of that, it also allows you to remotely wipe it, send a message to whoever has it or lock it. It is a pretty nifty app!

I have to say that I like the name much better than the “Device Manager.” It is a simple and direct description of what the app actually does. The new user interface is great and looks more fluid than the old one. You can now see a little icon of your devices. The map doesn’t take as much space on the screen as before which is cool.
