Google Nexus 7 tablet details outed two days ahead of Google I/O

The folks at Gizmodo Australia received more details about the rumored Google Nexus 7. The 7-inch tablet is reportedly going to be announced in just two days at Google I/O. So far, all the leaks out there are pointing at ASUS manufacturing it and its price being under $200. Here are the specs:

  • 7-inch IPS display wirh 1280 x 800 pixels resolution
  • 1.3GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8GB or 16GB internal storage options
  • 1.2-megapixel front camera
  • 9 hours battery life
  • NFC capabilities
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n radio

According to the leaked documents, the Nexus 7 tablet will be available for consumption in Australia next month. This could mean that we’ll probably see it here is the U.S. around the same time or earlier (hopefully). As far as pricing is concerned, we will be looking at $199 for the 8GB model while the 16GB will be $249. We sure hope to see a microSD slot in this baby and other than that we cannot wait to get our hands on it.
