Today is a good day. Google rolled out a brand spanking new update to the News and Weather app. We all have been patiently waiting and most definitely welcome the revamped app. It is currently available in the Google Play Store for all Android devices. However, I was not able to download it as it keeps saying that all of my devices are not compatible.

If you’re a fan of the Google now cards, you will be pleased with this new update. you can swipe through the topics that interest you. You can add a card based on things you follow, and also based on whatever country you’d like to hear about. All of this data will be linked to your Google account. So you have everything saved up whenever you open the app/

The available widget sizes are 2 x3 and 4 x 1. Both are resizable and give you a glimpse of the weather and headlines you are subscribed to. We really wish there was a way to dim the transparency of the widgets to make things match. Here is the changelog:

  • Enjoy news.google.com personalization by signing in with your Google account
  • Tablet support
  • Expand stories for snippets and related articles, including genres E.g. Opinion, In-depth
  • Navigate sections via the menu or simple swipes
  • Change editions for news in different languages and countries
  • Weather and local news for multiple places
  • New resizable homescreen widget

If you want to grab the new version of the Google News & Weather, head to the Play Store and let us know how you you like it.
