Google Music app for Google TV now available

After making all those announcements about Google Music and releasing an updated app for Android phones and tablets, you didn’t think that Google was going to forget about Google TV now, did you?

Today, they’re happy to announce that Google Music is now available on your TV, via Google TV 2.0 and the Android Market.

The Google Music app for Google TV works just like the one on your phone. With it, you can listen to all the music in your Google Music collection. Simply download the app, log into your account, and start streaming.

Google Music for Google TV plays music from your library in the background, so you can enjoy other apps on your Google TV. Listen to music while you surf the web, while viewing photos, and more.

If you haven’t signed up for Google Music yet, head over to music.google.com and get started. To download Google Music for Google TV, you will need to have either a Sony Internet TV or a Sony Internet TV Blu-ray. Those two systems recently received the Honeycomb upgrade for Google TV. If you’re a Logitech Revue owner, unfortunately, you will have to wait a little longer before you can download the Google Music app for your Revue.
