Google adds “Smart Reply” to its 1 Billion Gmail user database

Have you ever seen those little preloaded replies on Allo and Inbox? Well, Gmail now has it too. Google announced this new feature at the IO conference in Mountain View. Smart Reply basically works in the background. Instead of typing a quick message to reply to an email, you can quickly select one of the message bubbles and send. That’s is!

Smart Reply utilizes machine learning to give you better responses the more you use it. So if you’re more of a “thanks!” than a “thanks.” person, we’ll suggest the response that’s, well, more you! If you want to learn about the smarts behind Smart Reply.

The new update will start rolling out in English and Spanish first to Android and iOS devices in the coming weeks.
