Gmail for Android received update, brings improved 7-inch tablet support, performance improvements

Google pushed a new update to its Gmail Android application upgrading its software version to 4.1.2. The update brings the usual bug fixes along with improvement enhancements to the application. Folks who have 7-inch tablets like the Nexus 7 will notice an improved support for their devices. Here is the full chnagelog:

Android 4.0 (ICS) and up:

  • Improved 7″ support:
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements

Android 2.2 and up:

  • New Labels API for 3rd-party app developers
  • Performance improvements

We weren’t able to see any major changes following the install of the update. The second part of the changelog which talks about the changes made on devices running Android 2.2 and higher, has been left there since the 4.0.5 update.
