There is a new version of the Android Market currently being pushed out to Android devices. The new update brings a number of new features and settings to the market app, including the following:
- The ability to set all apps to auto-update (previously, you needed to set it on an individual basis)
- The ability to update over Wi-Fi only, for those who don’t want to use up their precious data
- The ability to auto-add shortcuts to the home screen, just like in Honeycomb
- Minor UI tweaks
- New app drawer icon
- Microphone for voice commands in search field
- Star rating on app pages
While you can wait for the update to be pushed out to your device, you can also download it right now from one of the two mirror links below. Root is not required for you to install this; simply install like you would any other app.
Warning: Some users have reported issues with this new Market and Honeycomb tablets. There appears to be a number of glitches when installed on Honeycomb tablets.
Note: If the Market app starts force closing after you update, go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage -> Market, and clear data.
Download: Android Market 3.3.11
It’s looking pretty good on my phone. If you install and discover anything new, feel free to drop a comment below.
