Download: New Android Market app for phones

You can now manually download and install the newly announced Android Market. The new Android Market app for phones, which will be rolling out to all phones with Android 2.2 and above over the next few weeks will allow you to purchase books and rent/buy movies from your phone. Up until now, purchasing books and movies was only available on tablets.

If you don’t feel like waiting for the new update to hit your phone, you can go ahead and manually download it now. As usual, the folks over at XDA came through and made the apk available for everyone. To install, simply download and run on your phone. If you’re not running at least Android 2.2, you won’t be able to install. Also, make sure that your phone is set up to install non market applications.

Enjoy the new Android Market for phones.
