Could patents be behind Samsung, Google Galaxy Nexus event delay?

We don’t need to remind about Samsung and Google cancelling the Nexus/Galaxy Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich event which was scheduled for today. Many of you including myself, thought that the reason behind the delay was due to the fact that they wanted to pay respect to the death of Steve Jobs.

Samsung and Google have decided to postpone the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event during the CTIA in San Diego, previously scheduled for Oct. 11.

Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product

According to Murtazin, a well known Russian blogger, “Nexus Prime and Android 4.0 are under question. Google removing some features which are subject of patent war. No timeline for this job.” This is a bold statement but it does makes sense somehow. There was no concrete proof to back it up though. Let’s hope Samsung and Google figure out whatever it is delaying the launch of their new products. Samsung may very well have the upper hand on apple this time around in their continuing patent wars.
