AT&T and Samsung announce the Galaxy Express, Galaxy Rubgy Pro, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and Galaxy Note 2

Samsung and AT&T are getting ready to release 4 new Android devices in the coming months. To be more specific, the new lineup includes 3 smartphones and a tablet, some of which we’ve heard and seen in the past.

The upcoming devices are:

  • Samsung Galaxy Express
  • Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 2
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Samsung Galaxy Express

The Galaxy Express will be a 4G LTE smartphone for the first-time smartphone owner. It won’t be a powerhouse, but it will get the job done for those transitioning from feature phone to smartphone. The Galaxy Express will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and will have a large 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display.

Powering the device will be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (hopefully an upgrade to Jelly Bean will be made available). Other notable features of the Galaxy Express include a 2000mAh battery and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro

The Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro is a 4G LTE smartphone designed for those with an active lifestyle. Built to military specifications, the Galaxy Rugby Pro is waterproof, shock resistant, and dust proof. The phone features a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display and a 5-megapixel camera capable of recording video at 720P. People who enjoy using their phones as a walkie talkie will also enjoy the fact that the Galaxy Rugby features enhanced Push-to-Talk functionality.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2

The third device announced is the Galaxy Note 2. This shouldn’t be a surprised because Samsung announced that the Galaxy Note 2 would be available on all major carriers in the U.S. at some point in November. Unfortunately, this announcement by AT&T doesn’t mention any release date or pricing information.

The Galaxy Note 2 is the successor to the popular Galaxy Note. It features a quad-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6GHz, a large 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and much more!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Last but not least, AT&T announced that it was going to be carrying the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Although this tablet has been available in Wi-Fi for some time now, it will now be available with 4G LTE radios for fast mobile connectivity. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 features a large 10.1-inch display, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a large 7000mAh battery, and much more.

Pricing and release dates

Unfortunately, AT&T did not make any pricing and actual release date information. At the moment, the only thing we know is that these devices will be available for consumers “in the coming months”.

We’re sure that we’ll be hearing more information on pricing and actual release date in the near future. Once that information is made available, we will be sure to share it with you.
