Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update coming the Galaxy S III soon, Galaxy S II currently being tested

According to the guys over at Sam Mobile, Samsung is almost ready to update their flagship device, the Galaxy S III, to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Although no specific date has been announced, a source indicates that the update could be available sometime in either August or September.

In addition to updating the Galaxy S III to Android 4.1, Sam Mobile is also reporting that the Galaxy S II will also see a Jelly Bean update in the future. According to the source, Samsung has begun testing JB on the Galaxy S II and so far, things are looking good.

There’s still no word on when these updates will take place, but you can bet that at least the Galaxy S III will be getting updated pretty soon. There’s no way in hell that Samsung will let its flagship device sit on ICS while others like the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S enjoy the Beans.

We’ll have more information from you once Samsung makes things official. In the mean time, hang in there. Jelly Bean is being worked on and will be available soon.
