If you’ve been patiently waiting for your Nexus S to receive the Android 4.0 update, unfortunately, you might have to wait a little longer. According to a forum post by Google Community Manager Paul Wilcox, Google has paused the Android 4.0 update for the Nexus S in a number of regions to “monitor feedback”. Since the update, a number of people have reported high CPU usage, shorter battery life, and lost wireless signals.
Despite the update being paused, some users are still receiving update notification, only to have itself cancel and the phone returning to its Gingerbread state. So, if you see your Nexus S prompt you for a software update, don’t get too excited. You could be in one of those regions where the update is currently being paused.
There’s no word on when the update will resume. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as soon as we hear more information.
