Android 4.0 update for the Lenovo ThinkPad tablet now rolling out in the UK and Western Europe

If you’re the owner of a Lenovo ThinkPad tablet in the UK or Western Europe, you might want to check your device for an Android 4.0 update. Back in February, Lenovo said that the ICS update for its ThinkPad tablet would be available to consumers in May.

According to a representative on Lenovo’s forum, the ICS update for the tablet is currently being pushed out to UK and WE versions of the tablet via an OTA update. Additionally, US certification of the ICS image for ThinkPad is expected to be completed on June 8, 2012. The rest of the world is going to have to wait until sometime in July before their ICS images get certified and pushed out.

Some forum members have reported getting the ICS update on their ThinkPad, which also brings faster speeds, functioning GPS, and compatibility with the Google Chrome for Android web browser.

So, if you’re a ThinkPad owner in the UK or Western Europe, check your device for a system update; it should be waiting for you!
