16GB Droid RAZR in black now available for $199 at Verizon (Purple and White coming January 23)

Want to get a Droid RAZR but only pay $199? You might want to head to VerizonWireless.com. As of today, they are selling the 16GB model of the Droid RAZR for $199 (with a new 2-year contract, of course). What’s so different about this model? It’s 16GB because it doesn’t come with the extra 16GB microSD card; so all you get is 16GB of internal storage. The $299 model that is also available comes with the extra 16GB microSD card, giving you a total of 32GB of storage.

As of right now, only the black Droid RAZR is available with 16GB of storage for $199. Verizon says that the white and purple 16GB models will also be available for $199 starting on January 23.

If you’re really tempted by the $199 price tag, you might want to think twice. After all, Motorola recently announced the Droid RAZR MAXX which offers almost double the battery life with just an extra mm in thickness (see our hands-on here). According to Motorola’s website, the Droid RAZR MAXX will be available on January 26.

So, what’s it going to be? The 16GB Droid RAZR for $199 or the 32GB Droid RAZR MAXX for $299?
