This is our hands on with the Verizon Sony Xperia Z3v

With the Sony Xperia Z3 already available in Europe and other countries, Sony decided to bring it to the US via Verizon Wireless first. While HTC is concentrating on photography, Sony is trying to attract gamers to its latest Xperia device which are also Playstation-4-compatible.

The phone is pretty light and carries the same design as the international model of the Xperia Z3. It is made out of plastic and doesn’t necessarily mean that it looks or feels cheap. The Z3v comes with Qi Wireless Charging, a 3,200 mAh battery with STAMINA mode (up to 2 days of battery life), 20.7-megapixel rear camera with 8x digital zoom, 2.2-megapixel front camera, 5.2-inch FHD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and TRILUMINOS technology. microSD slot (up to 128GB), Android 4.4 KitKat and 4G LTE connectivity.

Another cool feature that we really like is the ability to remotely play PS4 games on the phone via the REMOTE Play feature. The phone can also be mounted on a PS4 controller (anyone remember the Moga controller?).

The Xperia Z3v definitely packs some really great features and we cannot wait to spend more time with it. Keep an eye for it on October 23 if you’re a Verizon customer. We’ll make sure to remind you then.
