Asus had a hit with their Eee Pad Transformer tablet, and they hope to do it again later this year when they release the next gen version of their popular tablet. According to Fudzilla, multiple sources have confirmed that the next version of the popular Eee Pad Transformer will sport the new, powerful quad-core NVIDIA processor, codenamed Kal-El. On top of everything, according to sources, Asus’s tablet is also supposed to be the first quad-core device.
NVIDIA’s quad-core Kal-El processor was supposed to be available in August, and since August is here and almost gone, it’s safe to say that the powerful processor has been delayed. NVIDIA’s quad-core Kal-El processor, which could end up being called the Tegra 3, consumes less power than the Tegra 2, despite having 4 cores. There’s still no word on when we’ll start seeing quad-core devices, but Q4,2011 or Q1,2012 don’t sound like bad guesses.
