Steve Jobs gets an Android tablet in Taiwanese Action Pad commercial

Check out this commercial by Taiwanese electronics company Action Electronic. In the commercial, an actor portraying the late Steve Jobs with a Halo and some angel’s wings is shown praising the Action Pad, a tablet that features a multi-language dictionary and runs on Google’s Android OS. Of course, many people are upset at the commercial, calling it disgusting and distasteful.

When reached out for a comment, Action Electronic spokeswoman Chelsea Chen responded by saying:

“Steve Jobs always promoted things that were good for people, Apple products, so his image can also promote other things that are good,”

The big question is this: What do you guys think about this commercial? Is it too soon? Is it really that distasteful and disgusting?

I personally think it’s funny because we all know that Steve Jobs would never promote such a crappy tablet as the Action Pad. If he were to ever endorse an Android product, it would have been the same product that Apple is so desperately trying to kill, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

I think that people need to lighten up a little bit. Let’s see how long it takes Apple to file an injunction against Action Electronics for the use of an actor that doesn’t resemble Steve Jobs but wore his iconic blue jeans and black turtle neck.
