Sprint’s upcoming LG LS970 ‘Eclipse 4G LTE’ to sport quad-core S4 processor, 2GB of RAM and 13MP camera

It looks like Sprint is going to bring some great Android devices to the market. Yesterday, we saw the Samsung SPH-L300 which is going to be a mid-level Android device. And today, the folks ta BriefMobile has received some new intel about a new LG handset with model number LS970.

The LG LS970 is internally referred to as the “G” and will go under production name Eclipse 4G LTE. What’s amazing about this device is what’s inside it; it will sport the APQ8064 processor which is a 28nm 1.5GHz Qualcomm quad-core processor packed with an Adreno 320 GPU (drools). That’s not all; the Eclipse will pack a 4.67-inch WXGA 1280 x 768 LCD TFT display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE connectivity, 2100 mAh battery and will only measure in at 8.6mm thick.

If you check out the snapshot above, the LG phone kinda looks like the Droid X or even the Droid RAZR. With Samsung being top Android handset manufacturer, it looks like LG is trying hard, very hard, to catch up with their South Korean competitor. The Specs of the LG LS970 sure look awesome but we all know that it takes more than hardware to make a great phone. If you feel like waiting, it is rumored to launch sometimes in Q4 of this year and by then we’ll probably see all kinds of new things. Is anyone excited about this device?
